Welcome to MMM2022!

Firstly, we hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well at this difficult time. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has affected many conferences and events that were due to take place in 2022, the MMM conference will still take place at the same venue in Phu Quoc island, Vietnam and will support both on-site and on-line participation.

MMM is a leading international conference for researchers and industry practitioners for sharing new ideas, original research results and practical development experiences from all MMM related areas. The conference invites new scientific contributions and brave new ideas in the multimedia retrieval area.

The exciting programme will consist of leading invited speakers, presentations of accepted papers and poster/demo sessions, along with a number of themed special sessions highlighting research on emerging trends in the field. In addition, the 11th Video Browser Showdown will take place during the welcome reception where teams will compete in VBS arena for extra prizes.

It is a good news that visitors are eligible for a 30-day Vietnam visa exemption in Phu Quoc if Phu Quoc is the first destination they arrive to. All visitors from foreign countries do not need a Vietnam visa if they stay in Phu Quoc for no more than 30 days. However, you will need to apply for a visa if you want to travel inland Vietnam from Phu Quoc.

In MMM 2022, we welcome three keynote speakers: Prof. Ichiro Ide, Prof. Daniel A. Keim, and Prof. Sai-Kit Yeung. The overview and detail programme are now available online.

Please follow the instruction for presenters to prepare for your presentation. The conference proceedings were already published in Springer.
